First Things First Gives $2,695,430 Check To Young Children Of La Paz/Mohave Counties
KINGMAN,AZ.(February 20, 2009) First Things First (FTF) – the Arizona Early Childhood Development and Health Board – brought a special gift today to both parents and young children of La Paz/Mohave Counties. Nadine Basha, Chair of the First Things First Board presented an oversized check of $2,695,430 to Supervisor Gary Watson, other elected officials, members of the La Paz/Mohave Regional Partnership Council and several young children from the community.
“La Paz/Mohave community members, through the First Things First Regional Partnership Council decided what your children need most,” said Nadine Basha. Timing for this money could not be better. These voter protected funds are a stimulus of a different kind, not a bailout, but a parachute. That parachute if for all of the children of Yuma to give them the opportunity to start school healthy and ready to succeed in life.”
