PAMPARA APPOINTED TO FTF COCOPAH REGIONAL COUNCIL

Applicants Sought for Two Remaining Seats on Regional Council

Yum, AZ (September 12, 2011) – This summer, Ines Pampara was approved by the statewide Board of First Things First (FTF) to serve as the health representative on the organization’s Cocopah Regional Partnership Council.

First Things First is the voter-created statewide organization that works to ensure all young children are healthy and ready to succeed when they enter school.

Decisions about how those funds will be spent are made by regional councils comprised of volunteers who know best what children in their communities need.

I am extremely motivated by this great opportunity to work with First Things First and their commitment to the youngest citizens of our state,” Pampara said.  “As an individual who is committed to improving the quality of life and as a parent who believes that every child should have the opportunities, health and the skills needed to begin school ready to succeed, I will provide my support and encouragement to help First Things First make this area an even better place to raise our young children. Our children deserve this and our future depends on it.”

Pampara is the Director of Training Development for Regional Center for Border Health, Inc./Health Education Career Institute. She is responsible for coordinating, promoting, and implementing educational programs as well as job training courses in La Paz, Mohave and Yuma counties.

One of Pampara’s passions is to help individuals find the resources and empower them to attend college.  Being a mentor and seeing how the individual is succeeding in life is very full filling, Pampara said. Her vast experience and knowledge of this community will bring a valuable perspective to the Cocopah Regional Partnership Council of First Things First.

If you live or work on the Cocopah Indian Reservation and are interested in helping our youngest children arrive at kindergarten healthy and ready to succeed, the First Things First Cocopah Regional Partnership Council needs you!

Two volunteer positions are currently vacant on the regional council: one must be filled by a philanthropic representative and the other seat by a community member. Individuals wishing to serve on the regional council should possess a passion for ensuring every child has every opportunity possible to succeed; the commitment to excellence in creating healthy, safe and developmentally appropriate environments for young children; a belief in the strength of parents; and, a belief in the value of community collaboration.

Individuals interested in applying should visit www.azftf.gov/cocopah  to review the regional council member description and obtain the online application.
