THRALL APPOINTED TO FTF NORTH PHOENIX REGIONAL COUNCIL
Applicants Sought for Two Remaining Seats on Council
Phoenix - (October 19, 2011) This summer, William (Billy) Thrall was appointed by the statewide Board of First Things First (FTF) to serve as the member at large representative on the organization’s North Phoenix Regional Partnership Council.
First Things First is the voter-created statewide organization that works to ensure all young children are healthy and ready to succeed when they enter school.
Decisions about how those funds will be spent are made by regional councils comprised of volunteers who know best what children in their communities need.
“I care about my city,” said Thrall. “I am always interested in working with those trying to make a difference for the underserved.”
Thrall is the Executive Director of CityServe AZ, a non-profit organization working to build networks of transformative care across the faith, business, civic, government and education sectors to meet real needs in local communities. In addition, he has been appointed by Governor Brewer to serve on the ArizonaSERVES Task Force, which works with the Arizona Department of Economic Security to connect faith-based and non-profit organizations to help meet those needs.
Thrall is a proud Arizona native and alumnus of the University of Arizona. He is also an alumnus of the Fuller Seminary in Pasadena, California. He and his wife, Charlotte, live in North Phoenix with their three sons.
First Things First is looking for additional volunteers to fill two remaining vacancies on the North Phoenix Regional Partnership Council. One seat must be filled by a health services representative and the other seat by an educator. Individuals wishing to serve on the regional council should possess a passion for ensuring every child has every opportunity possible to succeed; the commitment to excellence in creating healthy, safe and developmentally appropriate environments for young children; a belief in the strength of parents; and, a belief in the value of community collaboration.
Individuals interested in applying should visit www.azftf.gov to review the regional council member description and obtain the online application.
