First Things First (FTF) has issued a letter to Arizona Tribal Government Leaders initiating a Tribal Consultation on the Roles of First Things First in the Arizona Early Childhood System.
The Arizona Early Childhood Task Force was appointed by the Board of First Things First in January 2010. The Task Force members are charged with establishing the vision for our state’s early childhood development and health system and guiding the role of First Things First in the implementation of this comprehensive system for the kids of Arizona.
The Task Force values the input of Arizona Tribal Government Leaders and will engage in a direct dialogue with Arizona Tribes to discuss the following topic areas:
· Early Childhood Development and Health Priorities for Arizona Tribes.
· The implications for Tribal communities of the proposed 20 roles identified for First Things First in the Arizona Early Childhood System.
· Prioritization of the identified FTF roles for Arizona Tribes.
· How FTF should partner with Tribes on these roles.
· Recommendations on other roles that should be packaged with the identified roles to meet the system outcome.
