“I never thought that I would have a chance to go to college. I am anxious, a little bit scared but ready to improve my work with children.  I am also being a good example for my own children.  They’re very proud of me.” - T.E.A.C.H participant

The T.E.A.C.H. (Teacher Education And Compensation Helps) Early Childhood® program is a national comprehensive scholarship program that links education, compensation, and commitment to improving the quality of early childhood care and education experiences for young children and their families.

Through participation in T.E.A.C.H., family child care providers, directors, assistant directors, teachers, and assistant teachers working in licensed or regulated private, public and Tribal programs are able to participate in 9-15 college credits of college coursework leading to their CDA (Child Development Associates) credential, a certificates of completion in Early Childhood Education or their Associates degree in Early Childhood Education.

A Bachelors Degree scholarship model is currently being developed and is anticipated to be piloted during the 2011-2012 academic year.  Those who receive the scholarship must successfully complete their coursework with a grade of C or better and must commit to 6 months to one year of additional employment at their programs; in return, they are eligible to receive a salary bonus or raise.
