What You Can Do

What You Can Do

80% of a child’s brain develops before they turn three years old, and early experiences lay the foundation for a lifetime.

Through First Things First, voters made a commitment to Arizona’s kids: that they would have the tools they needed to start kindergarten healthy and ready to succeed.

Each year, First Things First – through local volunteer councils – invests more than $100 million to give kids access to quality early education, literacy programs, adequate health and nutrition, and developmental screenings.

The job of getting kids ready for school starts the day they are born, and it’s a responsibility all Arizonans share. Read on to find out what YOU can do to give Arizona kids a solid start in life and a foundation upon which they can build.
